About Ryan Haynes

I have been a resident of Tennessee since my very early childhood, and I am fortunate to have received my education in Farragut schools. The network of the Farragut community provided me with important mentors, instructors, and friends.

I had the opportunity to grow up around community and national leaders who introduced me to issues that face our daily lives.

The care that local adults took in drawing me into important discussions about our families, our community, our state, and our country have resonated with me to this day. My interaction with Farragut citizens in the classroom, in the church pew, and in the homes of my peers built a secure foundation for the success I enjoyed as a student and graduate of the University of Tennessee.

After graduating the University of Tennessee, I knew that I wanted to follow in my father's footsteps and join the banking industry. When offered a banking position with one of the largest banks in the country, I knew that I would be able help people with their financial needs. I now want to take the energy I had in the financial world to Nashville.

After attending the Republican National Convention in 2000, I felt the birth of a passion. As I focused on the energy of the participants and delegates as they formulated the platforms of their campaigns, I began to feel the need to participate in this process.

I again attended the 2004 Convention and followed that experience with a job with family friend and U.S. Representative Jimmy Duncan. That summer taught me much about the daily workings of the government and provided me with the opportunity to attend the funeral of President Ronald Reagan.

That summer experience gave me the impetus to complete my college education in 3 ½ years, allowing me the availability to get actively involved in community interests.

I now seek to represent our community at the state level, supporting the traditions that have served as a foundation of the conservative ideals that are part of the legacy of national leaders like Ronald Reagan and local legends like John and Jimmy Duncan.

I ask each of you for your support, and for your vote in the August primary.
